“But what if we do? We could end up being a blended family. I want her to feel like she belongs,” Sarah countered.
Kevin leaned back, taking a moment to absorb her words. He understood her desire to create a sense of belonging for Emily, but he felt that there was a line that shouldn’t be crossed. “I’m not against her forming a bond with Jake. I just think we should be clear about the reality of their relationship. It’s important for her to know who her family really is.”
